What if photography were no longer just a way of looking, but a way of rethinking the world?
"Structures en dérive", nine artists with photographic and transdisciplinary practices who make the image a space for movement, doubt and experimentation.

Janik Bürgin lives and works in Basel. From 2017 to 2020, he trained as a photographer at the School of Design in Zurich. Since the beginning of his artistic career, he has been invested in the dialogue between photography and painting, an area of tension that he has explored in depth in various groups of works. For a long time, was deeply fascinated by the idea of creating something that only partially exists in reality—or of transforming perceived reality into a new context through artistic means.
His interest was never mere representation, but shifting perception: images that hover between visibility and imagination. In a visually oversaturated world in which we can hardly believe what we see or what is presented to us as reality, Bürgin understands his work as an attempt to give space to deceleration and uncertainty as a quiet counterpoint to the permanent flood of images and information.
