Guided Tour — Women at Work

Where textiles are produced on a mass scale, it is predominantly women who are at work. This is the subject taken up by the Romanian artist Aurora Király, whose solo exhibition is currently on view at the Fondation Fernet-Branca in Saint-Louis.
Király takes the visuality and materiality of the sample books of silk ribbon companies as the starting point for her new, expansive group of works “Moodboards (Silk Ribbon Archive Books)”, 2026. She drew inspiration from the silk ribbon collection of the Museum.BL. This is the occasion for a dialogue-based tour with art historians Olga Osadtschy and Yulia Fisch, curators of the exhibition at the Fondation Fernet-Branca, and cultural studies scholar Leonie Häsler (Museum.BL), in which we follow the historical traces of the ribbon weavers and enter into an exchange with contemporary artistic engagement with the subject.
